New Tree

An infestation of whiteflies at the mid to end of summer '24 killed the 12' holly bush and I had to remove it. We were not unhappy to see it go. After some research we chose a 'hearts of gold' Eastern Redbud tree to replace it with. It's been beautiful to see its transformation as it's grown over the first 6 months.

Here it is late April, just planted.

Just 3 days later the leaves start opening up.
After just 3 weeks, so much growth!
Now in early October. At this point it's grown about a foot in height. Zooming in you can see the many little moon shapes cut out by leaf cutter bees over the summer. We're looking forward to some fall colors soon.
